I wanna stampy metal jewelry. I have stuffs for it. But I made the mistake of closing the box of alphabet stamps after the first experiment (which failed anyway, because I hadn't realized I actually needed a hammer with a one-pound head), and now the box will not open. So the alphabet stamps, which are an absolute necessity if I want to make earrings that say "QUEER" or whatever on them ('cause, you know, apparently I am subtle in my presentation offline, and I prefer being sarcastically subtle to actually subtle), are of limited utility!

My tada list over at do_it is blank. This is a curable condition, honest it is. I just...not.

Have so accomplished things today. I peeled and cut and oiled and salt-and-peppered the carrots for grilling. I containered and put away the dinner leftovers. I loaded the dishwasher. I found a good home for a couple duplicate copies of books in my library. I had actual face-to-face conversations with real live human beings! These are accomplishments! These are not nothing!

I need to at least twenty minutes cleaning today (ideally my desk, since unfuckyourhabitat's challenge for the week is clearing off surfaces, but the basement floor and the wardrobe are good things to work on too) and at least twenty minutes writing (no preference what yet, other than Not If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking because that's Camp NaNo) and at least twenty minutes crochet (this really ought to be sister's wedding afghan but will probably end up being my rainbow lapghan) and that will take ninety minutes all told once I get started (assuming I exactly twenty minutes each thing, because 20/10s), and then I'm allowed to call it a day and go watch Buffy or something.

...why am I not getting started.

Other things I could do that would be useful: format the first Megan/Tara story for Kindle and Smashwords; go ask Dad to pry open the alphabet-stamps box so I can stampy metal jewelry; read something researchy; read something for the sheer joy of reading (oh wait I did that today already—Harry Potter fans, I direct y'all's attention to White Squirrel on fanfiction.net, all published works, and say how do you do the fancy thing like whydoyouneedtoknow on handles that have spaces?); knit.

ETA: 20 min cleaning desk, accomplished. Getting Dad to pry open the alphabet-stamps box, accomplished, but now I don't want to bother with metal stampy stuff, bah.

Hey, quick question: Have any of you been involved with a Big Brothers Big Sisters program? Because I am cleaning off my desk and found a BBBS brochure with an insert to the effect of LGBTQ Big Siblings needed for the 7.5% of youth in my state who are LGBTQ, most of whom have never met an adult like themselves. And I have been meaning to get more into local volunteer work.

(Because what I really, truly need is more responsibility. Also because I am such a phenom big sibling to my biological younger siblings.)
