"Dust If You Must", attributed to Rose Milligan
Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there is not much time
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world’s out there,
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come round again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it’s not kind.
And when you go—and go you must—
You, yourself, will make more dust.

seriously, anxiety? fuck you.
gaaah. dilemmaaaaa.
You see, I could go wash my car myself, for a fistful of quarters into the self-serve car wash. But that would be nasty on my hands. Or I could go to the full-serve car wash just down the street, pay several dollars more, and have someone else wash my car for me (including apparently vacuuming the inside and dusting the dash, because their site has the details of the regular service package as well as the price and those are included). But I would have to talk to somebody I don't know. (And also get all the crap out of my car so it can be vacuumed.)

My to-add-to-garage-sale pile has reached INTIMIDATING PROPORTIONS. And I still have like nine boxes to go through. :(

I am crocheting a this bath mat / door mat (I think this is the bath mat but it might end up at the front door or the patio door instead) and I got as far as finishing round four and my hands hurt too much. FUCK.
Which, okay, row five is a little opaque to me anyway? (Free pattern, so anyone with crochet skillz who wants to explain it to me has nothing to fear. I think I am crocheting in every stitch from row four plus one in every gap between the 3dc clusters in row four? What's this about counting stitches how many stitches am I supposed to have in this row?) BUT STILL.

Know what would be a sensible thing to do at this juncture? Leave for work now and walk a few laps of the green before going in the building. I'm nine kinds of stiff and it's frustrating.
(And if I can make a habit of doing this, it'll make me physically stronger, which is a way in which I can honor Athena.)

This is like the fifth time this week shuffle has pulled up Depeche Mode's "John the Revelator". ??

Coworkers M and S have a running joke that they're going to talk me into a kegger party at my place. :p to that. But it has now morphed into a toga party with Greek drama and the TARDIS. Which actually sounds fun.
