I wish to express my profound displeasure with the capitalist paradigm that one's value as a person is measured in the number of dollars one has in one's paycheck and bank account and in the quantity (and perhaps potential sale price) of stuff one owns. In particular I wish to express my profound displeasure with the way that idea has rooted itself in my mind—you know the kind of weed with so many little root tendrils that it's basically impossible to uproot it without digging up the whole yard, and even then one might miss enough roots that the fucker grows back?

(I don't measure other people by this yardstick, or at least I don't think I do. Why do I measure myself by it?)

I am going the fuck to bed. Saturday overtime will come way too early as it is.

I poemed. Better than sleeping, which is what I did for two hours (on my love seat, which is not really long enough for sleeping on) after about half an hour of reading Full Frontal Feminism for class. I have read this book before, I promise you, and it's not supposed to put me to sleep!
