Dear Yuletide Writer

AO3 name is [personal profile] AlexSeanchai.

First, a bit about what I like: Ladies being awesome. Bechdel passing. People of color being awesome. Queer people being awesome. Trans and nonbinary characters being awesome. Femslash, het, slash, poly, gen. Porn, pornless shippy fic, gen. (Obviously I am not asking you to provide all my likes at once.) Competence kink. Nonperfect people having nonperfect relationships (whether familial, platonic, romantic, or sexual) but all parties are good people trying to make the relationship work as best they know how. Ordinary people caught in extraordinary events. Worldbuilding! If you're leaning porny: bondage, body modification, endurance, nipple play (okay, really breast play, but [community profile] kink_wiki doesn't have a tag for that), sensation play, temperature play, impact play with the emphasis on play, toys toys toys, soft sensuous things, and writing. And if you're leaning porny but not sure who to lean porny with, I like femslash best.

Things I dislike: Underage. Non-con. Anything sexy involving eating or excreting (though if you want to write food porn in the sense of conveying what a tasty meal the characters are having, go to town). Disrespectful treatment of [insert marginalized group here]. Cross-generational sexual and/or romantic relationships, though if an involved character does not, in my head, have an age, then it won't bother me as long as all the involved characters are clearly adult. I can't really explain any better than that; this makes about as much sense to me as it does to you. Sorry about that.

Please do not take the word count of any request below as indicative of what fandom I like best. I will be happy with any of these fandoms—else I wouldn't have requested that fandom—and optional details are optional: mind the dislikes, please, but otherwise I'll be happy with anything you're happy writing.

Specifics:

Edally Academy - Lyn Thorne-Alder
Enerenarie (Edally Academy), Saydrie (Edally Academy), Tairiekie (Edally Academy)

Where you can find this canon: edallyacademy.com

These three characters come from such different worlds and, confined to the Academy as canon has been so far, we hardly get to see any of that except in the trying to make it work as a team. I would love to see more of the trying to make it work as a team, and I would also love to see a story outside the Academy setting where one of the three takes the other two home with them and we get to see their home culture.

House of Stone and Light - Dartmouth Decibelles (Song)
No characters nominated

Where you can find this canon: iTunes, Amazon MP3, Spotify

I feel like there's potential for two powerful stories here. Flip sides of a coin, really. One is an American woman going to Tibet to find herself or healing or something, or perhaps literally her soul (I must go there to find my soul yeah), and one is a Tibetan woman who Does Not Appreciate the Western tourism appropriation no-work-all-results gimme-gimme-gimme deal.

Time Travel Girl - Seanan McGuire (Song)
No characters nominated

Where you can find this canon: CDBaby

I wasn't the only one who thought about Chibiusa from Sailormoon when first hearing this song, was I? Show me the relationship between the time-travel girl and her parents, be it before, during, or after the time-travel incident. Or how the relationship between the girl's parents is affected by the girl's presence. I'm inclined to the belief that the girl's mom is a mad scientist here, and the girl's dad is one of the mom's minions, but the lyrics don't quite support that interpretation. I'm also interested in how the girl plans to take over the world with her parents' support.

Hellenistic Religion & Lore
Αθήνα | Athena

Where you can find this canon: many places (Hesiod, Homer, the Orphic Hymns, just to name a few) but theoi.com is a good starting point

I'm interested in modern interpretations. What if Athena's a trans woman—how does that affect the whole "Gaia prophesied that Zeus's first son by Metis would overthrow Zeus" storyline? What if she's a cis queer woman—does her vow of virginity apply only to heterocis sex (that is, sex possible-to-liable to result in pregnancy), or did she swear off sex entirely to get her folks to stop harassing her ace self about the subject? Maybe she's taking a year off the whole deity thing to work in a coffee shop or library or feminist activist nonprofit. Maybe she's chosen an oracle or spiritual leader or some such thing (this would of necessity be an original-to-you character) and the story is how your OC negotiates being this chosen person while dealing with the (generally hostile) world around her (or singular-or-plural them, or him if you insist).

Please note that for all I'm happy to treat Hesiod and Homer and all that body of work as just another canon to fanfic, I am a Hellenic polytheist, and respecting my gods while writing about them is essential.
