I am awake and pretty sure I am coherent. I just can't speak legibly. Or eat anything more solid than yogurt. Or stand without getting at least a little dizzy... At least the bleeding finally stopped, three gauze pads later. And the numbness has worn off enough that I can put water in my face without either pipetting, spooning, or spilling.
Next problem: I want to stay in the same room as Mom in case I need something. But that makes it hard to work on things. Especially since she's got Project Runway on. I don't actually mind Project Runway, it's just noise and distraction, you know?

You read pretty coherent, but maybe "directly after surgery" is a good time to not work on things.

I am also in this post-surgery "but I wanna work on the things" and "it's so hard to concentrate on these pain meds dammit" thing, and my various health peoples and family of choices have been side-eyeing me. but it IS frustrating. so i sympathize with your annoyance at wanting to work on things.
