AO3 name is

First, a bit about what I like: Ladies being awesome. People of color being awesome. Queer people being awesome. Trans and genderqueer characters being awesome. Disabled characters being awesome. Femslash. Porn, pornless shippy fic, gen. (Obviously I am not asking you to provide all my likes at once.) Competence kink. Nonperfect people having nonperfect relationships (whether familial, platonic, romantic, or sexual) but all parties are good people trying to make the relationship work as best they know how. Ordinary people caught in extraordinary events. Worldbuilding! If you're leaning porny: bondage, body modification, endurance, nipple play (okay, really breast play, but
kink_wiki doesn't have a tag for that), sensation play, temperature play, impact play with the emphasis on play, toys toys toys, soft sensuous things, and writing. And if you're leaning porny but not sure who to lean porny with, I like femslash best.
Things I dislike: Underage. Non-con. Anything sexy involving eating or excreting (though if you want to write food porn in the sense of conveying what a tasty meal the characters are having, go to town). Disrespectful treatment of [insert marginalized group here]. Cross-generational sexual and/or romantic relationships, though if an involved character does not, in my head, have an age, then it won't bother me as long as all the involved characters are clearly adult. I can't really explain any better than that; this makes about as much sense to me as it does to you. Sorry about that.
Please note that for all I'm happy to treat Hesiod and Ovid and Sappho and all those many bodies of work as just another several canons to fanfic, I am a Hellenic polytheist, and respecting my gods while writing about them is essential.
Arachne | Metamorphoses - Ovid (Hellenistic Religion & Lore)
I am particularly interested in the bit where Arachne's tapestry depicts abuses of divine power that presumably somebody told Arachne about prior to the weaving contest, and yet Athena's fury targets Arachne alone. So either Athena's primary concern is being outmatched in weaving by a mortal, or... And just how long was this contest, anyway? ("The Goddess and the Weaver" by Spiral Dance says seven months, but that's (1) probably an ass-pull number (2) framed as a quest, not a contest.)
Boy Who Cried Wolf (Fables - Aesop)
I would rather like a modern AU in which he's not just aggravating the villager-equivalents for the fun of it (though if he didn't take amusement from it, it would not be the same story!), but whatever he's worried about consistently doesn't happen, until it does and nobody believes him. Or if you're crossoverly inclined, a modern AU where he meets Cassandra of Troy.
Cendrillon ou La petite Pantoufle de Verre | Cinderella - Charles Perrault
I want Cinderella to have a goal in mind. (Not necessarily the mere survival of or escape from her stepmother's household, but that's not a bad goal to have.) And I want her to achieve this goal thanks of course to her fairy godmother and her princess (femslash for the win!) but also thanks to at least one of her stepsisters.
Hymn to Aphrodite - Sappho (Hellenistic Religion & Lore)
Coffeeshop AU? Library AU? Straightforward retelling of the story? :-D
La Belle et la Bête | Beauty and the Beast
The Beast's endless supply of wealth seems to tip the scales rather in favor of Belle accepting his request of marriage, just as strongly as his body (her body? singular-their body?) tips the scales against it. And any version where Belle's sisters are vicious tips the scales in favor of Belle getting out of dodge by any means necessary. Let's make my ship work to sail, shall we?
Metis (Theogony - Hesiod)
So. What would have happened if the prophesied son of Metis and Zeus had been born after Athena, rather than Zeus swallowing Metis before Athena was born?
The Oresteia - Aeschylus
Cassandra
Cassandra's life must have been tortuous after she refused Apollo and acquired the cursed gift of always-true-but-never-believed prophecy. I'd rather like a modern AU (bring in as many other elements and characters of the Oresteia as you like) in which Cassandra develops biting sarcasm of the "tell it the opposite of how it is" variety... Or if you're crossoverly inclined, a modern AU where she meets the Boy Who Cried Wolf.
Rapunzel (Fairy Tale)
I am actually fondest of the version where poor ignorant Rapunzel lets on to Gothel that the prince is visiting by mentioning how tight Rapunzel's dress is getting and Gothel figures out Rapunzel's pregnant. Keep that element, please, but give Rapunzel some sex ed and informed consent. (A modern AU would be an excellent thing, but a retelling in an original-ish setting is also an excellent thing.) However, if you want to do a cis f/f retelling, that works too!
Rotkäppchen | Little Red Riding Hood (Fairy Tale)
Okay, here is where I confess that I did not love this story half so much before Seanan McGuire's "The True Story Here", and a prose elaboration upon that song would be a marvelous thing. Alternately, anything that gives Red some freaking agency.
12 Dancing Princesses (Fairy Tale)
I want to see what motivates the princesses here. If more than two of the princesses had anything like a personality, that would be lovely. They needn't all be female, either, nor need their dance partners all be male. And if you happen to be personally familiar with a dance style (any dance style), by all means, incorporate it into the story!
