Since the issue of politeness and calm in addressing oppressors has come across my radar again:

"Letter from Birmingham Jail" is one of the least polite, least calm things I've ever read. And that includes all the things with swearing. Tell me again why I am obliged to be nice to people who are telling me to my face that I don't deserve full human rights?

I am not allowed to say "I am laughably bad at knitting" until after I have finished this scarf that I'm now going to have to cast on several stitches again. This time I discovered I was knitting with the long tail from my casting on, rather than with the yarn attached to the skein.
