Happy Giftmas to those who celebrate!

(I have not got to gifts yet. Or breakfast. Or even getting out of my Grinch pajamas; in my defense I have been up about long enough for my laptop to come on. Priorities. I has them.)

It occurs to me: How would one go about creating swear words for a fictional culture without relying on sex, religion, or excretion? (Or body parts associated with at least one of those three.) Because those seem to be the major categories of swear words, and I realize I swear a lot but I don't actually want this fictional culture to be shamey about any of those categories and swear words seem to rely on "this thing being sworn about is bad because it is like one of these bad things". And, well, all three of those categories, things to do in private, yes ('private' here defined as 'solitude or the company of like-minded individuals'); things to be ashamed of or shamey about, no.
