Get cheaper dental insurance. Discover existing dentist doesn't take it. Get new dentist who does. Fast forward to today. New dentist is retiring within the year, his company's reorganizing, and next visit his office won't be taking this insurance.

And for bonus points, dentist took off for lunch without notifying his staff, so wasn't there for the part of my appointment for which he was required...
