That one came for the feels. People who are out have been around someone who's depressed, possibly to the point of ideation, or who have been ideating before, might find Chat's state of mind pretty close to that state, if not being worried that he already there.

I don't think the author necessarily intended that, but that's the alarm bell that was ringing in my head throughout the story.
