oh hey I might actually get more bites on this prompt here
The Old Guard (2020)/Miraculous Ladybug is not actually a crack crossover (but this prompt does spoil the movie, and carries the same warnings for temporary major character death and for torture that the movie does)
what surprises Chat Noir about this particular time he dies is, Ladybug's Miraculous Cure is not what brings him back
what surprises Andy, Nile, Joe, & Nicky (and Booker and Quỳnh, but they're both elsewhere) is, this isn't the first time the newest immortal has died
(Ladybug can be immortal too, as separating her and her partner is angst with an unhappy ending, but it's more fun if they don't know that to start with)
and it's not like it'll hurt anything if Ladybug and Chat Noir take two water transformations and the Horse Miraculous to the sunken coffin he's dreaming of, right, it's just an awful nightmare and Ladybug has negative problems with anything that gives her partner peace of—
—wait shit Quỳnh is actually in there?! okay well Cataclysm will solve that, they can at least get her safely to Paris, and…wait this means the other people Chat Noir's dreaming of are also real people, who are possibly dreaming of him, and—shit, yes, Quỳnh knows Adrien's name…
(on the bright side, these new friends can easily and permanently, if more bloodily than Ladybug and Chat Noir might prefer, solve the Hawkmoth and Mayura problem)
