Comms:
genteensybang might be cheating to include because it's still in author signups first time through, but MEH. It's gonna be SO MUCH FUN. Even if I do end up writing five thousand words of Genevieve/Sam instead of five thousand words of Ruby/Jess set right before Talitha Rising.
gsd_rtfn. The initials stand for Get Shit Done, Right The Fuck Now. That's kind of the goal.
queer_bigbang and
ladiesbigbang are exactly as advertised. I've yet to complete one, sadly.
Nonfannish:
This one's hard, because I basically am fannish. I work to pay the bills so I can keep on being fannish comparatively worry-free. I mean, I like my job, the state economy and a fuckton of businesses in-state and worldwide need people doing my job, I am good at my job. But it's just a job. Not my life.
Except apparently in December, when everybody who has a company in existence in this state and who thinks they might want not to have that company in existence the next year hurries to get the cancellation/dissolution paperwork filed, because we do not prorate taxes—a company ending its existence at 00:01 1/1/13 pays ALL the 2013 tax. I am too new at this job to have been trained on anything to do with existing companies other than print status certificates and copies of documents on file, but in December everybody who can handle existing companies does, leaving all the new companies and cert-and/or-copy requests, including the ones people are paying absurd amounts to expedite, to the people at my level. I have at least one coworker who was working sixty-four- to sixty-eight-hour weeks all month, the variation being entirely in how many overtime hours were available on Saturday. I'm not quite that insane, but overtime money is good money; in the last pay period of 2012 (pay periods are two weeks), I got paid for 105 hours. A bit of that was holiday, yes, but meh.
Goals:
I am signed up for
genteensybang and
spn_j2_bigbang and sometime this year I need to do a New Year's Resolution fic for
yuletide. And
spn_pairing_bingo and both my Epic Bechdel projects and I'm forgetting something, I know I am.
Creator:
VATHARA. I have only read V's Avatar: the Last Airbender fanfic, but Embers (and to a much lesser extent its part one, "Theft Absolute") put so much more thought into the universe than the canon creators did. I don't know Bleach but "A Resolve of Breaking Waves" (V's Bleach/AtLA crossover) doesn't seem to need that knowledge to appreciate the story, and, oh Iroh. And I am really looking forward to V continuing "Scarlet and Black", in which Zuko goes blind post-Agni Kai and learns to adapt.
Canon:
Lucifer Rising. That is how you do interWinchester conflict RIGHT, season eight. Make it clear throughout that the first thing on Sam's mind is Dean and the first thing on Dean's mind is Sam, and they might disagree, they might even disagree violently, but they're both sure they're doing the right thing (and season eight could learn something else from season four: season four should have taught those two to communicate), and above all else they love each other.
And at least one female character gets a lot of screen time. Always glad when that happens.
