oh that's what I meant to post when I got home yesterday
Know what's hilarious? Watching a square of strong square dancers switch places with each other in between calls such that they all forget which side of the couple they started on and where home is.
Know what's really, really not hilarious? Hearing the caller refer to this as a 'sex problem' and 'gender identity crisis'.
(Boys or people dancing as boys, you see, start on the left side of the couple. Girls or people dancing as girls start on the right side. Which side of the couple one started on is pertinent throughout the tip, particularly when the call is, for example, Boys Run, or Girls Trade.)
Know what would be absolutely fabulous? If my parents were as blasé about gender in real life as they are in square dance tips where they load a square with strong dancers just to play switch-'em-up and fuck-with-the-caller.
