My first online fandom was Ranma 1/2, which tended to cross-fertilize with Sailormoon in interesting ways - so many crossovers in which Ranma became a Senshi! And I was big into anime at the time, so I ended up reading fanfic for most of the anime that were big in the 90s, with Ranma and SM being the ones I read the most.
I loved Usagi repeatedly saving worlds and people with her stubborn compassion. It's a character type I'm weak to.
