Dear world: Yes it sucks that men harass women. That doesn't mean "grow a penis" is an appropriate thing to say, whether to or by a harassed woman.

Yes, I know it's a joke; to the best of my knowledge they're not working on growing penises from stem cells, or penis transplants from donors, or whatever else one might think of that involves a trip to a hospital or biology lab instead of a trans-friendly sex toy shop. That doesn't mean it's funny. In fact it is not, because it says that all men have penises and all women don't (let's just not ask where nonbinary folk are in this picture). Also it suggests that becoming a trans man (or would the individual in this case be a trans woman, because she would remain female, penis or no? whatever) would reduce the harassment risk, which, uh, that's not how it works.

And yes, you're in your own space talking about your own experience as a harassed cis woman. Which is a sucky experience to have. That doesn't mean you get to deal out splash damage.
