December Days 16: a food which reminds me of best parts of childhood (dialecticdreamer)
Baby Jesus Birthday Cake. Also known as crumb cake, but neither my mom nor her mom ever made it for any occasion other than breakfast Christmas morning.
Here it is three days after Christmas and I haven't had any yet this year. That probably says a lot in itself.

(Also,balsamandash, I may not be getting to the "recommend books" December Days post this year at all. I haven't actually read a whole lot this year, and I get the impression that my Dreamwidth readers are mostly a crowd to whom Pratchett's Hogfather needs no recommendation.)
