In my experience, the mile hurts at first. Then it hurts less. Then it doesn't hurt. Of course, then I stop walking and I have to start all over again. Again. Again.

I have bad knees, arthritis, I'm over my ideal weight by ~40lbs, and I have depression, so I know the feels of "I should walk but ow."

Am feeling them right now, actually: just walked 2 miles with 6'4" husband of Walks Faster Than The Wind.
