holy shit why am I learning from Twitter (or more accurately, a friend's auto-tweeted Tumblr post) that Hurricane Patricia is the strongest hurricane ever recorded?
not that I object to Twitter and Tumblr as sources of news, but I heard about Hurricane Patricia on the radio this afternoon and you'd think they'd have mentioned that minor detail
(gods, please protect the people of Mexico while the storm is passing, and please send them enough and timely help once the storm has passed)
and I am going to bed now but apparently the American Red Cross mismanaged Haiti earthquake donations and misplaced a half billion dollars somewhere and maybe shouldn't be where I donate to help Mexico. CharityNavigator has a helpful list.
