I am getting very sick of "Daddy, fix car" every other week. But taking the damn machine to an actualfax mechanic would be rather more expensive.

Are the things he's doing to fix the car things you could ask him to show you how to do so you could do it yourself the next time?

We tried this with changing the oil. The knowledge did not stick. :(
