So I just discovered that the local library partners with an online program to offer continuing education credits to library cardholders.

Why in fuck am I thinking about signing up for some of their courses?

It is not, afaict, time-sensitive. I pretty much need to not.

At a guess, the thought is there because you have spent a goodly period time structuring your life around a chunk of time devoted to education. You've elected to drop that for good reasons but our brains tend to like structure and familiarity and will grab at things that at least look kindasorta like what they have been used to, in times of change.

I would absolutely say give yourself time before you sign up for anything like that. Let your brain decompress and see where you really actually want to spend your time.

If you must be learning something to feel right, why not try some sort of self-paced thing? Go on Duolino or Readlang and study a language, maybe.

This may be self-paced, I'm not sure. Probably. One course is 10-15 hours commitment (estimated), varying by course.
