dear jukebox DJ

AO3 name is [personal profile] AlexSeanchai.

First, a bit about what I like: Ladies being awesome. People of color being awesome. Queer people being awesome. Trans and genderqueer characters being awesome. Disabled characters being awesome. Femslash. Porn, pornless shippy fic, gen. (Obviously I am not asking you to provide all my likes at once.) Competence kink. Nonperfect people having nonperfect relationships (whether familial, platonic, romantic, or sexual) but all parties are good people trying to make the relationship work as best they know how. Ordinary people caught in extraordinary events. Worldbuilding! If you're leaning porny: bondage, body modification, endurance, nipple play (okay, really breast play, but [community profile] kink_wiki doesn't have a tag for that), sensation play, temperature play, impact play with the emphasis on play, toys toys toys, soft sensuous things, and writing. And if you're leaning porny but not sure who to lean porny with, I like femslash best.

Things I dislike: Underage. Non-con. Anything sexy involving eating or excreting (though if you want to write food porn in the sense of conveying what a tasty meal the characters are having, go to town). Disrespectful treatment of [insert marginalized group here]. Cross-generational sexual and/or romantic relationships, though if an involved character does not, in my head, have an age, then it won't bother me as long as all the involved characters are clearly adult. I can't really explain any better than that; this makes about as much sense to me as it does to you. Sorry about that.

All prompts, except "Earthquake Weather" which is also fanart, are fanfic only.

Abraham's Daughter - Arcade Fire (Song)
And with his sword up, raised for the slaughter,
Abraham's daughter raised her bow.
"How darest you, child, defy your father?"
"You better let young Isaac go."

Something showing how this change in the earliest history of the Abrahamic religions has profound effects on these religions' history and the present day, please.

Earthquake Weather - Seanan McGuire (Song)
Here in this wood where stories twine
Meet and part and recombine
Guard your eggshell heart, for the moon tells lies.
Follow the white hare like you're on a tether,
For this is bitter earthquake weather,
And never trust the tenor of the skies.

There are so many stories this song hints at. I will be delighted with any of them. Tell me about the Princess of Storms and the ball she's having, tell me about the broken arch and secret door and king lying bleeding on the floor, tell me why the summer's queen has bloody hands... Or draw a scene from any of those stories!

Half Jack - Dresden Dolls (Song)
It's half biology and half corrective surgery gone wrong
You'll notice something funny if you hang around here for too
Long ago in some black hole before they had these pills to take it back
I'm half Jill
And half Jack

This could go two ways for me—either the narrator's conflict with her father, or the narrator's conflict (as a trans woman) with herself and the transphobic society in which she lives. Bonus points for doing both!

House of Stone and Light - Dartmouth Decibelles (Song)
Holy Lady, show me my soul;
tell me of that place where I must surely go
Old man waiting at the gates for me,
give me the wisdom, give me the key

I feel like there's potential for two powerful stories here. Flip sides of a coin, really. One is an American woman going to Tibet to find herself or healing or something, or perhaps literally her soul (I must go there to find my soul yeah), and one is a Tibetan woman who Does Not Appreciate the Western tourism appropriation no-work-all-results gimme-gimme-gimme deal.

My Story Is Not Done - Seanan McGuire (Song)
It's not done until it's told,
It's not told until it's written,
If I'm brave and if I'm bold,
I can challenge what's forbidden,
For nobody gets to tell me
That I'll never be the one.
When they ask you what befell me,
Say my story is not done.

Tell me about Cinderella's dustbin daughter, her relationship with her sisters and mother, her relationship with the fox-girls and ghost-girls and pretty pirates and so forth.

No Hurry - Vixy & Tony (Song)
Papa says it's best this way, and it's all the life I've known
Still I wonder what it's like to call the Raven's speed your own
To hear the voice of a distant friend or see a distant face
But you can't pick roadside blackberries if you move at such a pace

Something set in the same post-apocalyptic setting as "No Hurry", touching on some of the same themes, would be lovely.

Time Travel Girl - Seanan McGuire (Song)
She's our daughter from the future
And she stole my time machine
Guess that proves she's pretty clever
You can blame it on good genes

Show me the relationship between the time-travel girl and her parents, be it before, during, or after the time-travel incident. Or how the relationship between the girl's parents is affected by the girl's presence. I'm inclined to the belief that the girl's mom is a mad scientist here, and the girl's dad is one of the mom's minions, but the lyrics don't quite support that interpretation. I'm also interested in how the girl plans to take over the world with her parents' support.

Woman of the Earth - Spiral Dance (Song)
Come walk the paths that the old ones walk
Come dance the dances they taught us
Come sing the songs that the old ones sang
For the magick now has caught us

Something tapping into the sense of magic this song sends forth, please. Bonus points for exploration of Paganism of some flavor.
