...Does Syfy only allow people to stream their shit if the people in question pay for cable? Because I was trying to watch The Magicians on syfy.com all legal and shit, but it asked me to select my TV provider. I don't have a TV provider, because I don't have a TV. I tried picking my Internet provider but it's telling me I'm not allowed to watch because this channel is not part of my TV service. And I don't believe there are any [legal] alternatives to syfy.com for watching this show on my computer.

...meh. I'm going to try to sleep, for the third time since I woke up this morning.

a lot of networks these days want you to be paying for some kind of provider in order to watch stuff. it's frustrating that they don't think of a world in which people don't have a television. (no one I know offline has a television.)

Yeah, they want you to already be paying for it and just wanting to watch it online because you missed seeing it - and you get a bunch of ads that you can't so when you do it that way, too. So you pay for the channel and you get the ads. Thbbbpth.
