Mailed Kindle Fire HDX mkII back to Amazon today for an 80% refund, that
being their idea of how to make me a happy customer. Can't find the Kindle
Fire HD already in my possession, though it doesn't necessarily work at all
anyway. Did find the Kindle Fire I won four or five years ago.

Planned obsolescence SUCKS DONKEY BALLS.

It is slow. It is cranky. It has very little storage. It is incompatible
with half my apps and all my graphic novels. It won't switch tasks while
music is playing without hiccuping the music. Its browser won't run
whatever script the DW beta entry page requires of it!

Very. Annoyed. Bear.

(Though it does read the rest of my ebooks without that Invalid Item
message. So there's that.)

Ugh. Were it not the only thing working correctly, I'd say it needed to be rooted and something else that improved performance installed.

To be fair. This device is vintage 2011 or 2012. I am used to a device that is vintage 2015. And technological progress goes boink moves at a rapid pace these days.
