It's strange that I never considered she might get rid of it, knowing what it might turn out to be. That episode is so gross I have trouble watching, which is what I'm blaming my lack of consideration on. :P

I don't even know if she was telling the truth. It's entirely plausible that she was hoping saying she was pregnant would alleviate her danger. But I like this interpretation. Hard on her, though.
