I remember that a few Yuletides ago someone's gift was an interactive fiction. I don't remember the fandom or the settings clearly enough to describe them, but I do remember that one had to play through several times in order to win it, and if one had collected an item or performed an action at one spot in one play-through then one would have the item and see different text at that spot in later play-throughs.
