Just watched the Community pilot. Britta is AWESOME. So's John Oliver's character, whose name I didn't catch. Apparently I am measuring awesomeness on a scale of Jeff-pwnage. Jeff I loathe, and please somebody tell me he isn't actually the protagonist. Shirley and Annie and Abed have potential, and I believe Troy won the fandom cage match so I'm sure there's potential there too. Pierce I'm not sure about.

Sleeping now. Yes [personal profile] tptigger I yogaed.

Yay Community! (So much better than Gilmore Girls...)

My favourite characters are currently Annie and Troy. Jeff I don't mind - he can be really dorky when he tries. And he's not the protagonist (mostly). In fact, I'd say there mostly isn't one. It's an ensemble show.

Sadly, Jeff is the nominal protagonist. *grumbles*

Pierce is... a horrible person and a fascinating character. And, erm, barely subtextually in love with Jeff. Which is hilarious.

YOu're doing better than me, I skipped class on Sunday (same reason you skipped the last either of us mentioning it.) Going next week. *resolve face*

Hmm, not sure what you will think of the direction the show goes in then. Jeff is indeed the protagonist, and I think Britta is probably the most underserved of the characters as the show goes on. Pierce was ok during S1 but I have been less enthusiastic with how things have gone since, though you can never tell what are writing decisions and what could be actor issues.

Troy and Abed are fun though I think they have overemphasized Abed's role in the show. It's kind of interesting to watch because Abed is clearly the breakout character of the show, and so it increasingly turns to not just Abed but the things he represents to the audience. I think this has made the show unique in a way its original premise did not, but it makes the effort to keep writing to Jeff increasingly obvious.
