I see it is holiday wishlist meme time again
Everybody already knows how this works, right? No obligations, all in good cheer?
1) Donations to water.org because a great many people die of easily preventable water-borne diseases and a great many people (almost all women) spend a great many person-hours fetching water rather than working to get themselves and their families out of poverty. I've started a fundraiser, end date my birthday, over thisaway.
2) Donations to Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts because there's lots of people standing up for the legal rights of content distributors and not so many for the legal rights of artists, and the less well-known the artist, the less likely they are to be able to afford a lawyer.
3) Donations to Lunapads's Pads4Girls because a lot of girls and women in developing countries miss school or work due to not having anything or enough things to deal with menstrual flow.
4) Amazon gift cards. If I am really lucky I will gather a sufficient sum to acquire Asimov's Annotated Paradise Lost. If I am somewhat less lucky I will gather a sufficient sum to acquire a 1080p monitor in black.Somewhat less luck than that will net me an office chair that hasn't been worn just about to death. (This one in black suits me.) Never mind the chair, I'm buying it with some of my overtime money. If I don't collect enough Amazon money for the monitor but I do get Amazon money, there are a multitude of books and DVD/Blu-rays I want.
5) Holiday cards that respect my atheism.
6) Fanworks of any sort for A Widow in Waiting. It's one of my Yuletide fandoms and you can reference my Dear Yuletider letter if you want to make me happy for Yuletide Madness (and of course I will be real happy with Yuletide Madness fics for any of my other requests, which include five-minute fandoms), but seriously any fanworks at all for this book. Or fanworks full stop, I've summed up my fic likes in my Dear Yuletider letter and it and my tags list will tell you my fandoms, but I'm really hoping for fanworks for this book.
7) A Supernatural-specific commentfic comm, preferably on Dreamwidth because what the fuck LJ we do not want site-scheme-only reading pages or infinite scroll and don't you fucking dare take threading away, that is open to prompts about any character in aired episodes, to prompts and fills at any rating, and to fills of any variety of fanwork.![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
spn_bitesized resurrected, or if the current mod team doesn't want to bring it back or to step down in favor of a volunteer or three, a similar new comm. I realize such a thing is likely to be quiet, since bitesized was quiet for months before it went down for the summer hiatus from which it has yet to return, but I do not care as long as such a thing exists.
8) Someone to bounce my fantasy novel off of and catch me on as many instances as possible of racefail, plotfail, characterfail, themefail, and otherfail. It's supposed to be the angel-wars mytharc of Supernatural except twisted to my liking and starring a biracial bisexual ciswoman and her biracial genderqueer sister. It's also supposed to be my NaNo, unless I do the SPN AU instead. (eta: NaNo, ha ha, but I do plan to write this thing at some point.)
9) Self-discipline omg. I have essentially zero spendy money between now and January and not much between then and April, and I really want to celebrate my twenty-seventh birthday (that's January 2016) in an apartment all my own. Also my sleeping, eating, and exercising habits are the suck, and even now that I'm getting back on track with the creative output I'm spending a lot of time refreshing reading lists instead of writing. Also refreshing reading lists instead of consuming media, and I have a fuckton of media that I own and have not consumed.
