for entertainment purposes only: the inaugural tarot card draw

Since I am new to doing this for other people, I am offering both one-card draws and three-card past-present-future draws for free, one free draw per customer, and I am sticking to my Hanson-Roberts deck—it's essentially the Rider-Waite except the art is prettier; that's the Hanson-Roberts Queen of Swords in my icon, and yes, sadly, all the people in the deck are white. I am also offering a second free draw (one card) to anyone who links me to their post advertising this, and a Celtic Cross ten-card spread to anyone who donates 5 USD via my Paypal button below.
Anonymous comments are screened and will remain so unless you say in the comment to unscreen it. If you want your card by PM instead of in a comment, tell me; if you want it by email instead of in a comment, I'll need your email.
The free draw is CLOSED.
Three-card request!
I want a three-card draw... do I need to say anything else or just go from there?
Re: Three-card request!
For the past, the Devil. In Christian tradition, the source of all evil, but that's not the case in tarot. It's more like something's gone wrong. Something you didn't know and should have known or needed to know, or something you were focusing on to the exclusion of more important things, or a situation in which you felt trapped.
For the present, the Eight of Pentacles. The image is an artist at work; one presumes from the card's standard associations that the artist is mastering a new technique. Whatever you're working on now, it's something that needs your best effort; if you're not working on anything in particular, it's a good time to learn something new. In either case, don't let the details slip.
For the future, the Five of Pentacles. Real cheerful card, this; one figure is elderly, the other leaning on a crutch, and both wearing patched clothes and crying. In front of a church, in the snow. In short, this card is for hard times, which I hope you will not experience, but preparing for them never hurts.
Two of your three cards are Pentacles, which suggests a need to focus on practical matters. Not to cut out creativity, emotions, intellectual pursuits, or the grand drama of life, of course, but perhaps you need more attention on your day-to-day.

For your present, the Six of Swords. The image is a person steering a boat; this might mean literal travel or metaphorical, and you might be moving swiftly or slowly, but you're definitely moving, and the destination's in sight.
For your future, the Three of Cups. This is a very happy card. Friendship, community, help you give or receive, or just, y'know, being happy. Always a good thing for the future.

For your present, the Ten of Pentacles. Big happy family with money, is the image on the card. If that's not applicable to your present circumstances (damn economy), the other side of the card is convention, rules, established patterns. Taking it with the Seven of Pentacles, perhaps adherence to those patterns is the thing to reconsider.
For your future, the Two of Rods. Don't be afraid to be bold, to be creative, to put yourself forward. Every gamble carries the risk of losing, but you can't win if you don't play.

For your past, the Queen of Swords. This may represent the qualities of the Swords suit expressed in oneself, honesty, straightforwardness, wit, being able to look past the surface of a situation to the root causes or motivating factors, or it may represent someone else in your life who embodies these characteristics.
For your present, the Ten of Rods. The figure on this card is carrying ten large heavy sticks and has a long walk to go. However many projects you have going right now, you should consider the possibility that it's too many, and put one down for a while or find someone who'll share the work.
For your future, the Four of Cups. The figure on the card has three cups and is being offered a fourth, all of which are ignored. Whether this is a happy card depends on your circumstances: perhaps you will be too self-absorbed to notice good things happening, or perhaps you will need to take some time to focus on yourself.

For your present, the Two of Pentacles. Much happier. The figure on the card is juggling, which may be the obligations and activities you're trying to keep track of, or may just be for fun. Fun is always a good thing.
For your future, the Ace of Cups. Aces represent the pure energy of the suit, and Cups are the cards of emotions, intimacy, love. This is sometimes frightening but rarely bad; there are cards for when these feelings cause pain, and the Ace isn't meant to be one of them.

Thank you.

For your present, the Seven of Cups. How this applies depends on your current situation: it's all about fantasies and choices and disorder, so if there's an excess of one of those in your life, try to tone it down, and if there's a shortage, try to amp it up.
For your future, the Knight of Swords. Knights are double-edged: directness, logic, knowledge, all good things, but it's often easy to be blunt to the point of hurtfulness, to ignore feelings and desires from oneself or others, to refuse to accept that someone else knows better on something.

For your present, Strength. That lion could tear the woman to shreds--it is physically far stronger than she--but it's letting her pet it, because in the sense of 'strength' that this card is using, she outmatches it. You have that strength too, that compassion, that patience, that heart. Don't forget it.
For your future, the Two of Cups. This might mean a potential romantic or sexual connection, or the strengthening of an existing such connection, but boiled down this card is about one-on-one connection, full stop; building such a connection, not breaking it down. Look for a chance to do that.
Two of your cards are Cups, which suggests that right now you need to be most concerned with your emotions and your inner self.

Anyway, thanks again. I find Tarot symbolism fascinating.
