SPN: 5x09 reaction
I was expecting that ep to be physically painful to watch. Which, okay, it was a little. But this ep rocked.
ACTUAL GAY PEOPLE. WHO DO NOT DIE. AND WHO SAVE THE DAY. Party time, folks, the writers bought a clue! And BECKY! I hated her in 5x01 and she wasn't easy to watch here either, but she's much better now. Part of it is she fell for Chuck—and I called that; not nearly as early as whoever wrote the Becky/Chuck fic in which she knows she's a redshirt, but I called it—and is thus not nearly as obnoxious about Sam, but most of it is that last scene. (Which is metacommentary on how much fans have helped the show on an entirely different level than all the fanservice we've gotten.) I guess the boys haven't actually read the books, or not all of them, or not that closely. Somebody said they thought Dean knew about Sam's Florida adventure by reading Mystery Spot by Carver Edlund, which is still a possibility, but it's looking less likely in light of the boys not knowing what Becky knows from having read Time is On My Side.
I heard rumors about Dean chatting up a girl cosplaying as Sam. WE WERE CHEATED. In fact, other than Becky, mommy ghost, and mommy-ghost actress, I don't remember a single female face. It's entirely possible there were some and I just didn't register them as anything other than part of the crowd, but, well. (Of course three female characters is better than usual for this show.)
Dean got a couple desperately needed reality checks in there. So did everyone at the con, which is probably going to save some lives. I'm not gonna put money on Barnes and Damian turning hunter, but I'd give it better than even odds.
If our boys are gonna be sensible about the bungee thing, can they start carrying holy water super soakers too?
Know what the world needs? Fic where Damian and Barnes meet the Ghostfacers. Sadly I do not feel myself capable of writing that fic.
About that promo. Did I see Dean kissing Jo?
