I need twenty thousand words by Saturday evening. also a distraction.
Leave me prompts. I will write you fic. Probably original fic, possibly in Trumpetverse, possibly thought of special for the occasion. I won't put any time guarantee on, because I'm leaving for work in ten minutes, but I'm probably going to be doing some of this writing at work. See also, twenty thousand words from winning NaNo with five days to do it in.

It's grief or love or mere contempt
The simple sorry fact of your existence is enough to bring this house of evil down.
tw sexual assault: Pretty voices keep you beautiful and bound.
She was sitting with her hands tied behind her back, Becca and Maricel on either side of her similarly tied; maybe Rae's singing lover-to-be was poly and kinky. Wasn't anything wrong with either, of course, Rae just hadn't thought to apply either term to herself before. But anything her lover wanted, Rae wanted.
A tiny bit of Rae protested at the thought of sharing with Becca, incestuous as that would be, but that bit was firmly outvoted.
The singer finally came into view, a tall white woman with blonde hair, and Rae fell in love. To her right, Maricel gasped, and to her left, Becca sighed with delight.
The tiny bit of Rae noted that the woman's hair was longer and paler than Ashley's, her body more bony than Ashley's, and protested that too.
"Now, which of you shall be first?" the woman mused, voice rising and falling melodically. "Perhaps you, little huntress," she crooned to Maricel, running a hand up the inside of Maricel's leg. "Or perhaps you, fiery one," she hummed to Becca, sliding her other hand around the curve of Becca's breast. "But...perhaps you, healer child." Maricel and Becca made disappointed sounds when she stopped touching them, but her hands were moving to cradle Rae's face. Rae smiled and leaned her head up for a kiss.
No kiss was forthcoming, and Rae tried to hide her disappointment. But then, a kiss would have meant the silencing of the song.
"Look out!" shrieked Becca, and Maricel threw herself forward, crashing herself and the chair into someone behind the woman.
Rae's lover-to-be turned, eyes widening, and hummed louder. The intruder threw Maricel off and stood, and Rae, seeing her clearly, recognized her, and spotted a knife in her hand: "Leah, stop!" Rae ordered.
The knife slid between Rae's lover's ribs. The song died.
As silence fell, Rae realized anew that her hands were tied, something she sure as hell hadn't given permission for. Beside her, Becca started struggling.
Maricel said something indistinct into the floor, then turned her head. "Siren," she snarled.
"Is that what that was?" Rae said faintly, as Leah moved to cut Maricel free of the chair.
"Must have been," said Becca. "Look at her." The beauty was gone, utterly: skin gray, hair dull green. "What I wanna know," she continued, "is how it got all three of us and not Leah."
"Isn't it obvious?" Leah asked, going to free Rae. "You three are queer women, so a siren woman can get you, and I'm..." She shrugged. "Differently queer. I don't think sirens can get an asexual person at all."
"Probably not," said Maricel. "Since they operate through the victim's sexual desire."
"In that case," said Rae, rubbing her wrists, "what took you so long?"
Leah snapped the cord binding Becca. "Aren't you glad I got the vision when I did, instead of five minutes later?"
"Yeah, yeah," said Becca. "What do we do with that?"
"Burn it," said Maricel flatly.
Becca wreathed the corpse in flames. "Glad to."

It means you like, I'm guessing. Yay you like!
It's grief or love or mere contempt
Becca felt a great tiredness settle over her. "Haven't you been paying attention?" she asked. "Neither am I."
"You...actually believe that," Maricel said slowly. "Have I taught you nothing? Demons lie. Devils lie."
"So do people," said Becca, then clarified, "So do human people." She lit a small flame in the palm of her hand and watched it flicker. "This isn't human magic, for all it acts the same sometimes. You knew that when you were teaching me the basics of how to handle it. You just didn't know what that meant."
"Becca, stop talking," Maricel insisted. "Please, stop talking."
"No," said Becca. "You know I'm people, and you want to keep believing it. But if I'm not human, you have to stop. You don't have to stop, Maricel. You just have to realize that Graciela's people and so am I."
"She's not human," repeated Maricel.
"If that's where you're drawing the line," said Becca quietly, "then I guess this is goodbye."
Maricel took a deep breath, raised her head high, and with a contemptuous little shake of the head, turned away.

Song prompts are excellent but Youtube is inaccessible from work. What song is, please? Where are lyrics?

Lyrics here. It is very much not a happy song, but I don't see anything I feel should be specifically warned.

No apologies necessary.
Thanks!

A poem is a lovely way to hide a spell.
Death prefers to play Go, not chess. More possibilities that way, he thinks.
