Desktop + Blackboard = not playing nicely.

Laptop + Firefox + Gmail = not playing nicely.

Laptop + Chrome + Gmail = playing nicely. But: Laptop + Firefox + Chrome = never, ever plays nicely.

Upper-body muscles + eight pushups off the stairs + one day = OW OW OW.

Complaining about same to Dad + getting the standard "don't push yourself too hard" line = grouchy, but okay. But: Complaining about above to Dad + getting "Well if you can't do one regular pushup, don't try eight girly pushups" = BITCHFACE.

One am bedtime + six-thirty am waketime = grouch grouch tired tired GRUMP.

I feel like I ought to do the whole "hello, new friends from [personal profile] theladyscribe's friending meme! LOOK WHAT YOU GOT YOURSELF INTO NOW" dance routine, but I am le tired. (so take a nap, THEN FIRE ZE MISSILES how is that still funny) So you get this for now. Which...is not an inaccurate summary, honestly.

ETA: Figured out how to make Gmail behave in laptop Firefox. Praises. Still don't know what went wrong, but it's working now.

ETA2: But now Word is misbehaving! I want .docx files to open in Microsoft Office and .odt files to open in LibreOffice, as the computer gods ordained. I can have the first one, or not, as I choose. I can't have the second one. Not according to Word. (Please oh please muses let me get a complete draft of this story, and please let it end neatly in more than four pages and less than ten. This draft is due in less than a week.)

I don't think the story has a lot of formatting? Could you write it as a .txt, which should work either in Office or LibreOffice?

Yay, praises.

As for file types, I think Windows can be required to do what you want through the Control Panel. Unless Word is a greedy Zut Alors and silently changes all preferences back to itself on startup.
