so I hear it's wishlist time again
No obligations, of course. All in good Giftmas cheer.
1) Money. The math to get me into a living situation that is not my parents' house simply does not work if I am still paying my parents back for my associate's degree and back rent and whatnot. If you wish to give me money but do not wish to use GoFundMe—and after certain shenanigans, who could blame you for not wishing to use GoFundMe?—my Paypal email is alexconall at gmail; if you do not wish to use Paypal either, see bottom paragraph.
2) Artistic encouragement / constructive critique. This could mean 'reading and commenting on a fanwork I have made' or 'offering to beta-read an original story or poem' or 'reading and commenting on a thing I have published on
alexconall' or 'reading and, in your own space, linking to and reviewing a thing I have published on
alexconall or Amazon/Smashwords'; if you do the last, please link me the review! I do not think it is ethical to comment on somebody's review of my work when it is in their space not mine, but I would love to know what you think of my work.
3) Jewelry. I often wear earrings and sometimes pendants. I'm always up for something rainbowy, or simple classic styles; things I am particularly eyeing are this Athena pendant and this Athena pendant. Don't care whether gold- or silver-tone, though more copper-tone earrings to go with this one pendant I own would be particularly lovely. Chokers and other short necklaces are a definite no-go.
4) Yarn. There is no such thing as too big a yarn stash. The more eco-friendly the yarn, the happier I will be. AFAIK I have no fiber sensitivities.
5) Books. There is no such thing as too big a personal library, either. Here is the wishlist I showed my family. (Which encompasses a bit more than just books. It does not include 'money' because Mom prefers everybody to have Things To Open At Christmas, and envelopes containing money do not count.) I am too lazy to actually make an uncensored list, but you know me, give me feminist retellings of fairy tales or feminist readings of economics or anything queer/trans/feminist theory or anything by or about queer women and I'll be overjoyed. Just first make sure it is not on my LibraryThing. Or gift-card me to Amazon or B&N or Acorn Books and I'll get something I want there.
6) Advice for: finding an affordable apartment; finding a queer/trans-friendly roommate, who is understanding of disability issues esp. social anxiety, and of my evening-shift schedule ,and who is okay living within shouting distance of the town where I work, or at least in the same fairly rural county (should it be necessary that I find a roommate, which I expect it will be); living on my own. (nb: this is not a request to find me a roommate. yet.)
If you wish to gift me anything that requires a street address for delivery (this includes checks as well as packages), PM me and I will give you the address and the name to address it to.
Thank you so much!
