This novel of page-turning action and adventure poses the question, "If a society had no knowledge of Christianity, and then a Bible were discovered, what would happen?"

...Probably the same thing that happened when we had no knowledge of the Epic of Gilgamesh until somebody dug it up in 1849. Jack shit of interest to anyone but scholars.

*giggles* Pretty much. Possibly some additional scholarly excitement if it's a text with a bunch of words left intact, particularly if there are entire chapters without gaps in the text.

Heh, yeah. The rest of the summary was along the lines of "the power of God converts everyone", which is why I'm annoyed.

This is the problem with a theology that believes the Word speaks for itself, without anyone else to read it with. (I think that someone who just sat down by themselves and read the Bible would come up with a view of a Christian life unlike the one our society came up with, and while that would be fascinating to read, it would not be palatable to most modern Christians.)
