They DON'T have permission; they PRESUME permission to bleep up all kinds of settings, including those which should be LOCKED, like accessibility features!

(Actually I would make it a checkbox: something like "persist settings?" and then just export/import from a flatfile. That is not, in fact, hard. Grah.)

That sounds more like a browser adware or program installation that's changing things as a comdition of their install.
