They DON'T have permission; they PRESUME permission to bleep up all kinds of settings, including those which should be LOCKED, like accessibility features!
Dear Firefox: Do not change my settings when you install, it cannot be hard to export and import them without making me hunt each and every one down every time.
(Actually I would make it a checkbox: something like "persist settings?" and then just export/import from a flatfile. That is not, in fact, hard. Grah.)
