Ate. Ran dishwasher, which required hardly any loading because keeping on top of emptying the dishwasher means things can be and have been going straight into the dishwasher without pausing in the sink for days.

Updated grocery list—low on dishwasher detergent cubes. (I never notice this thing until there's only one or two cubes left. Ack.)

Attempted to make a wall decoration using the fancy-ass engraved butterfly measuring spoons that I bought a year or more ago to decorate the kitchen wall. (Since the jump rings are plenty small enough a gauge of wire for the intended purpose, clearly the problem is that the chain links are too small to accommodate the jump rings.) Since I had already cut the length of chain, found the tumbled obsidian and silver-tone stone cage I bought a while back and strung those on with a bar-toggle clasp (and smaller gauge jump rings) to make a pendant.

Tweaked my answers to the job app continue-the-conversation questions. Asked FB and DW friends to look over the answers. Hopefully I will be submitting the answers today.

Started listening to The Jaguar and the Owl episode 47. Folded laundry. Piled folded laundry into basket and moved to bedroom. (I'd have to pause the podcast to put it away.)

Hung a little shelving thing on the wall. Put the empty bottle of Poe beer on it, and the little gardenia candle, and the "home is where the heart is" dish from Goodwill, and the card with the purple flower that Backup Manager S gave me along with the alphabet woodblock that's on the coffee table. Hung the R&G:RIP frame next to it.

Put books and magazines from floor pile on shelves or in Goodwill pile as appropriate. Did more with floor pile, wasn't really paying attention to what, because podcast.

Sent the potential-job people my answers to the continue-the-conversation questions. \o/

Moved stuff around my bedroom until I had a decent chunk of clear floor space where I want to put the shelves and side table I bought yesterday. Vacuumed same.

Hauled in and positioned the cinderblocks the shelves will be sitting on. Oof.

RESTED.

Moved the shelves kit and the side table kit to the bedroom, so as to assemble them right by where they will be placed when assembled.

Made coffee.

Played some of a Tibetan singing bowls Youtube by way of sound purification. Talked to someone on Bacchic Underground about how to do a more personal/intense sound purification myself. (Basically just go through the space with an active noisemaker, drum or rattle or chime or bell or whatever, praying. Dancing optional.)

Finished assembling pasta salad. Ate a bowl of same.

WANNA HEAR SOMETHING HILARIOUS

the two corkboards

that have been leaning against the wall for ages for lack of hardware to put them on the wall

come with their own hardware and instructions

wanna hear something else hilarious

the instructions for the corkboard hanging hardware

involve drills

I do not have drills and I am not sure I would be allowed to drill holes in my apartment walls

(of course, to find this out I had to open one of the corkboard packages, and the receipt is long since discarded, so the other one isn't returnable)

(yup, and the whiteboard's the same brand, same "hardware" marker on the insert, probably same deal)

according to middle sister and walmart.com, I require command strips, medium size. okay then.

*headdesk* Furniture (wall furniture included). Bleh. I always assume I'm going to have to jury-rig something, even when in theory it's new stuff with all the bits and bobs. And that takes so much time and argh and it is heavy. BLEH.

OTOH, you know how to deal with it now. That is a powerful position to be in, even if the actually doing it keeps getting postponed due to other things further up the list.

Also, I am thrilled that dishes are going relatively smoothly for you right now. And I covet your dishwasher. *grabbyhands*

I had quite a large corkboard (4'x2.5'?) hanging from a single drawing pin for years, which might be easier to get away with/hide the evidence after the fact rather than using anything that needs drilling - which sounds like serious overkill to me!
