queer_bigbang. But now there's less than a month till June 15 when rough drafts are due, and I have a couple problems I want to talk through. To that end: poll!

For your help in deciding, the one-sentence summary I just gave queer_bigbang's latest checkin: An asexual girl and a lesbian girl, who happen to be Emma the daughter of Dean Winchester and Claire the daughter of Castiel['s vessel], attempt to save the world (because their fathers are obviously incompetent at it), and meanwhile negotiate a romantic relationship.

I'd really, really love in on this filter :D (I have so, so many hearts for queer gen.)

I should note that it's probably not gen, because I do not see how either girl's sexuality would be relevant to the action plot and therefore I require a romance plot, but it does rather depend on how one defines gen. I do not plan on the girls having sex.

Bad wording on my part. I love fic that deals with being queer beyond what it means for hot porn, regardless or ship or lack thereof (not that hot porn is excluded from queer-themed fic, of course).

Ah, okay, then this should work for you, I hope. Assuming I can work out that side of the plot. I thought it was gonna be straight-up sex-free lesbian romance, but no, Emma's gone and got vocal, she wants to try a few varieties of sex before she decides that yes she actually is asexual (maybe it's just that she hasn't found the magic combination of tabs and/or slots yet--I am aware that this is an offensive attitude; in my defense, it's the character's, not mine), which might not mean f/m but will certainly mean f/f/m and f/f. And Claire grew up rather sheltered in my headcanon (white evangelical Christian subculture, 'if it's not Christian pop culture it DOES NOT EXIST' flavor; the only explanation I can think of for Castiel's total pop-culture ignorance when other angels have at least some familiarity is that angels draw their cultural referents from their vessels and Jimmy grew up in the same subculture he raised Claire in), so she may not at the outset know what her sexuality is. (Probably explains why I can't get a handle on whether she's bi or lesbian.) I think this story will not be gen at all, though I'd rather avoid writing outright porn. And most of what's in my head remains action plot, so.
