Agree on pretty much all of this. I left because it just got so constantly stressful--so much shouting. I miss the days when Fred's was small enough that he could get by without a moderator, but then, I may have rose-coloured glasses for a time that didn't exist. (Then I wandered onto John Scalzi's blog, and whatever I think of him as a writer, I'm a little in love with the Mallet of Loving Correction, esp. on kitten setting.)
But I liked a lot of the people! Enough to have friended several of you over here.
For me, the breaking point was a bunch of people lecturing me that I was supposed to be nice to someone who wanted me to die because I happened to be disabled. Yeah, that... was enough.
