"What relationships do you see between [Eli] Clare['s Exile and Pride] and Foucault['s introduction to A History of Sexuality Volume I]?"

NONE. IT'S FOUCAULT. FOUCAULT IS FUCKING IMPENETRABLE.

...why do I never seem capable of puns when I want to pun.

FOUCAULT. I remember little from my reading of A History of Sexuality, Volume I, mostly because the modern history graduate colloquium in which it was assigned during the first semester of my PhD was rescheduled to an earlier time than normal that week. I remembered the rescheduling only a few hours in advance, and read what I could in the 2 1/2 hours before class. We may also have read Butler that week, come to think of it. All that is to say that I feel your Foucauldian pain.

But are you familiar with Foucault explained with hipsters?

Foucault being fucking impenetrable seems like a pretty good pun to me.

I remember when I switched from Bio to Lit Crit (classes), I thought it was insane. I spent hours reading two pages of lit crit and still not understanding it.
