Sooooo guess who just discovered that AO3 preview was perfectly happy with the ladybug emoji in HTML format—you know, 🐞 = 🐞—and, in production, it fucking ATE both the first such emoji and everything afterwards.
(Also I somehow omitted a small scene in that fic altogether and I dooon't think I can blame AO3 for that.)
