Happy birthday, America

I do not think any celebration of the founding of this country is complete without a consideration of the documents that are, taken together, the foundation, the birth certificate of America; that is, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. (The other amendments should not, of course, be neglected.)
