Finally got unstuck on the Epic Bechdel ficlet for Home. Then typed up the one for Hookman. Then went to type up the one for Bugs and realized exactly how thoroughly I'd fucked up the depiction of the Native American woman responsible for the bug curse. Gyaaah. So instead of you getting three Epic Bechdel ficlets in a row, you get one, and meanwhile I get to go figure out if my fucked depiction can be unfucked. For starters, I need to figure out what language she spoke and what therefore her name could have been.

Also whether that fic idea actually fits in this series, because her motivation is unambiguously "kill the white men who raped and killed my people" and the motivation of the angel who's talking to her is, whether said angel knows it or not, "keep alive the white men who will in a few years be very important to my (male) commander", but I can write the fic as a standalone if I can't write it as a Bechdel fixit. What worries me is whether I can write the fic without racefail.
