Nobody else is home, nor is likely to be home for some hours, so now's the perfect time to finally watch Elena Undone, right? Because the last thing I want my parents to do is find out I'm watching a movie with a lesbian sex scene. (I assume such a scene is in the movie, anyway.) And I'm not watching it on a DVD player, either, I'm watching on my computer in the basement, because otherwise parents will walk in in the middle of the lesbian sex scene.

Except VLC Player just laughs at me when I try to play the DVD, and Windows Media Player, slightly more helpfully, says a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on my computer and directs me to web help, which tells me to install a MPEG-2 decoder. Except VLC Player is, or has built in, an MPEG-2 decoder.

Help?

WASTING MY WEEKEND ARGH. No motivation no NOTHING. Mountain of books to read. Big Bang to edit. Soap and candles to make, though that latter might annoy Dad, he made me put away my stuff for that earlier today. TV to watch and analyze and transcribe. And while I do have motivation to watch Elena Undone, I am not spending money on additional functionality for Windows Media Player in hopes that makes the DVD play, 'specially when the additional functionality for WMP is stuff VLC is supposed to already have.

ETA: Now I need to clean my room so I can get at all the books I just put in a LibraryThing collection with Jess's name on it, so I can get those books onto the empty bookshelf currently inexplicably in our library, so I can do an art that's a character study of Jess.
