Dec. 1st, 2011 07:15 amTIME decided I was scheduled for an automatic renewal. I had no idea I'd signed up for such. So they took everything out of my Paypal account and another twenty-odd dollars from my checking account. The checking account that only had seven dollars in it. Supposed to be five, except my $2 Paypal donation hadn't gone through yet, apparently. I got a single email saying 'the bank has declined your transaction' or some such thing. Silly me thought that that meant, y'know, the bank has declined the transaction, not let it go through and put my checking account into the red. And silly me thought that only one email meant only one declined transaction.
I got a letter yesterday, didn't see it till this morning, says I've got a $35 fee for going into the red. And I have that fee twice, because the $2 transaction went through after (but on the same day as) the $30 transaction.
This from the credit union that I'm in the process of switching to precisely to avoid exploitative shit.
I do not have a spare $70. And fuck only knows how much the belts for my car and the new headlight will cost. I don't have that to spare either. Did I mention that any days I don't work, I don't get paid? Tomorrow's paycheck is already going to have a hole in it from Veterans' Day, and I can't stay home sick today because I'm already down the money from Thanksgiving and New Year's, and for bonus points we're observing Christmas and New Year's the Mondays following, which means a future paycheck will be down two days as well.
I may have to get on my knees and beg Mom and Dad for money to buy my spring textbooks with.
