Dec. 19th, 2012 04:39 pmYou know how Jewish tradition gives names to a lot of nameless characters
in the Tanakh, for instance Noah's wife Naamah?
Is there any similar tradition for the name of the daughter of Jairus (Mark
5:21–43, Matthew 9:18–26, Luke 8:40–56)? I mean, I could call her
'Talitha', Jesus does, but that's just Greek for 'little girl', I rather
doubt it was anybody's actual name until later. Kind of like how 'Colleen'
is from the Irish for 'girl' and it's a popular Irish-American name but not
so much in Ireland.
