Jan. 23rd, 2015 04:53 pmPeople tend to (sexistly!) think of bending back a fingernail—or breaking one below the quick—as a really minor injury, something only a girl would complain about.
I can only assume that everyone thinking this has either short fingernails* or undersensitive fingertips. Because while I'll grant you that it is a minor injury in comparison to many things, it actually hurts like blazes.
* And of the two dominant genders, which one is expected to have decorative fingertips, hm? And which is required not to?
