Mar. 22nd, 2015 05:15 pmI have a perplexed.
So I preordered Octavia's Brood, which is subtitled Science Fiction Stories from Social Justice Movements, because obviously relevant to interests. Amazon says this book is due out April 14.
I just got an Amazon shipment notification saying Octavia's Brood will be on my doorstep tomorrow. March 23.
And I keep seeing
seananmcguire go off about early sales not counting toward first-week sales (preorders do ordinarily count toward first-week sales, because they are processed in that first week of on sale) and first-week sales are critical for various things (and consequently please do not tell her if you see a Seanan McGuire or Mira Grant book for sale before its official release date). So I am wondering if I have Amazon has I have actually hurt this book's sales figures by getting it three weeks early, and if so what do I do about it.
Like, really. Wat do.
(I mean, other than overwhelm my poor local indie bookstore with special orders for all these titles they wouldn't ordinarily carry. I should spend my money with them instead of Amazon, really I should...)
