(no subject)
Aug. 5th, 2015 01:34 pm$1000 book prize sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writers' Association. To qualify for the prize, I have to live in Delmarva (done) and publish a book in 2015 (before November, when the prize window closes). Poetry qualifies. So basically I have to get my poetry collection organized and formatted and Kindled/Smashwordsed/CreateSpaced and then I can forward a copy and the entry fee to ESWA.
Except, one, entry fee, and two, looking askance at the bit of the announcement email that says subject matter can be universal. You know how a story about a straight cis white man is "universal" and a similar story about a disabled trans black woman is not? I don't think a poetry collection with frequent notation of how genderqueer I am is going to fly with the judges!
...I'm probably going to enter anyway...
