Sep. 5th, 2015 11:55 amFact, or possibly boundary I am asserting, I am not sure which: Nobody will pack my stuff but me.
Problem: Trying to pack the books that are on top of my dresser into box that is on the floor, and getting dizzy every time I stand up. Which, as you may imagine, this process involves lots of! Dresser is most of as tall as me, you see. Finding a surface to put the box on that is convenient to pack the books in without up-and-downing a bunch will involve hauling a table up here, which there isn't room for and would be more effort than it's worth anyway.

Sep. 5th, 2015 01:40 pmNegotiating various physical limitations and mental illnesses while packing to move (or vice versa) is an exciting experience. A+++ would recommend.
Wait, no. The other thing.
(anxiety won't fucking shut up, and I'm less dizzy-getting down here in the nice cool basement but I'm still getting dizzy on standing, and...)

Observe the boxes in the bottom of the frame. They are both about half full of books.
Observe the books in the top of the frame. They need to go in boxes. Those two for starters.
Observe the distance between the boxes and the books, and the sheer volume of stuff in the way.
(Don't observe the book piles next to the boxes—those are library books. I should straight up return them all and not check anything out till after I am all moved in.)
Which means, I suppose, that the [next] place to start is the pile of stuff between the boxes and the books...

Sep. 5th, 2015 04:29 pmThree partially packed book boxes are now fully packed and sealed book boxes. Plus one book box that just got assembled today is mostly packed. That's...progress, I guess? Given that I have been attempting to pack since eleven this morning and it's now four-thirty?
(This includes the two boxes from the photo from earlier. I pushed them around the mountain rather than dealing with the mountain.)
I should go figure out dinner. Since it is four-thirty and my sister went off to a friend's house for what is obviously the implicit purpose of getting out of her turn cooking.

Sep. 5th, 2015 06:23 pm"Threading the Labyrinth" by
ysabetwordsmith is a retelling of part of the Minotaur myth, done in an intriguing poetic form which I believe
ysabetwordsmith invented: it's three poems that are meant to braid together into one poem three times as long. Recommend.

Sep. 5th, 2015 08:05 pmHm. Do I want to pack the three volumes of Diana Tregarde (four counting Trio of Sorcery, which is a three-fer only one of which is Diana Tregarde), or do I want to put them in the garage sale? I am positive that if I reread the Tregarde I will find them full of epic fail—the Aztecy one racismfail and the Trio of Sorcery one transphobiafail, is what I can think of off the top of my head—but they're Mercedes Lackey and I don't want to get rid of any Mercedes Lackey. (The one that is already in the garage sale is a duplicate copy.)
Also it is self-evidently not yet cool enough in my bedroom to do any packing work in said for any significant length of time, argh frustrate, because I need to adjust my sleep schedule in order to be awake for work at eight on Monday and therefore cannot feasibly wait till it's later at night and therefore cooled off more in this room. :(

Sep. 5th, 2015 09:42 pmGarage sale now has a DVD section!
And that's a box of DVDs packed, too, and I think I'mfor bed now going to water the garden like I was supposed to earlier and not go to bed for another hour because that's how long the garden hose is supposed to be running for. gah.
And now it's an hour later and the hose is off and I can go to bed but I don't want to go to bed. I don't want to much else either, mind...
