Jan. 30th, 2016 06:10 pmThing that sucks: Spending half an hour in sensory hell between the fire alarm noise, the fire truck flashy lights and exhaust, and the sheer penetrating cold. (My fancy new smartphone-friendly gloves...don't keep my hands warm. Which means either I go back to the gloves that freeze my fingertips because there are holes in the fingertips or I buy new gloves. Grump.)
Thing that sucks appallingly: Fire alarms that go off for no apparent reason and DO NOT FUCKING SHUT UP. (Fire company called maintenance twice, left voicemails, got no response as of when firefighters told us to go back inside.)
Thing that also sucks, but not as much as the previous things: Being at my parents' house where the obnoxious shrill penetrating fire alarm noise isn't.
(Oh well. I had to be here tomorrow bright and early anyway, so Dad can replace the radiator in my car. So me staying the night is no real big. And this gives me opportunity to bake Dad thank-you-for-fixing-my-car blueberry muffins, which opportunity was going to be hard to come by otherwise because Mom says she plans to use her oven for one thing or another basically all day tomorrow, and I have not got muffin tins. Oh, and the laundry machines at my parents' do not charge me a dollar fifty a pop.)
