They say King Arthur sleeps on Avalon, ready to return in Britain's hour of need. [Insert calamity]; now would be a good time, Your Majesty.
Meanwhile, throughout the British Isles, kids just on the cusp of puberty are dying one by one. Demographically, these kids have nothing else in common, but they all fit a very similar personality profile: compassionate, curious, charismatic, and possessed of compelling leadership among their peers. [Our older hero] sees the pattern, but there's not much she can do about it--how can she know who'll be targeted next?
Except one day, she does, by some miracle, find the next target in time to save the girl's life. [Our younger hero] claims to be King Arthur returned; she, like the string of ghosts who trail her, chose this fate. She, and they, even have a plan for how to bring a new Golden Age to this corner of the world. It'll work, if [our younger hero] isn't dismissed as a crazy person--and if she lives long enough to pull it off.
